Dominant viola strings carry over the construction principles of the world-famous violin string to the viola. A flexible multi-layer Perlon core delivers a warm tone with the stability of modern synthetics, a combination proven for decades in concert and teaching use.

On the viola, Dominant develops a warm, round tone with clear projection. The individual strings are well balanced against each other in volume, so the sound stays even across the whole range. The A string is aluminium-wound, the D string is available in aluminium or silver, and the G and C strings are silver-wound.

Available in the common viola body lengths of 4/4, 16.5", 15.5", 15", 3/4 and 1/2. A special d'Amore variant also covers the requirements of historical and experimental playing practice. As with the violin version, different gauges are available to match the set to the individual instrument.
