Features
- For fingerboard and strings of string instruments
In practice
- Intended for strings and fingerboard, not for the varnished body.
- Wiping regularly works better than an occasional deep clean. Dried-on rosin deposit is far harder to remove.
How to use
- Wipe the strings along their length, then the fingerboard.
- Do not use on the varnished body.
How it works
Lapella wipes are pre-moistened and sealed individually in an aluminium sachet. So no wipe dries out and no cleaning liquid drips onto the varnish. The wipe itself contains no plastic.
No. 31 is formulated for bowed instruments and takes up rosin as well as sweat and skin residue; No. 34 is matched to plucked and fretted instruments, where only sweat and skin residue build up. No. 34 works with alcohol as its active agent and removes sweat and dirt at the fret edges as well.
Open the sachet, wait 20 to 30 seconds until the wipe has the right moisture, then wipe fingerboard and strings gently. Then leave it for two to three minutes; there is no need to dry afterwards.
Our experience
The set used to contain seven wipes and a microfibre cloth. Because our customers hardly used the cloth, the set now holds ten wipes.
When another model suits you better
For violin, viola, cello and double bass we recommend No. 31 (ZL-31, also as the single wipe ZL31-SINGLE), for guitars and other fretted instruments No. 34 (ZL-34).
