In practice

  • An endpin rubber protects the floor and the tip and is a wearing part. Hardened or split rubber slips.
  • On smooth floors friction alone is often not enough. Then an endpin rest with a socket or an anchor helps.

Grip and floor protection

Our ZP-2016 series endpin rests are 10 cm in diameter and 1.7 cm high; a magnet in the centre centres the endpin over an ebony inlay. Their underside of cellular rubber grips on wood, PVC, laminate and glass with a coefficient of friction above 0.9: only a sideways force of more than nine tenths of the load the endpin places vertically will make the rest slide.
