Protection and climate
The Performance covers are soft-shell cases made of nylon.
For the double bass, BAM matches the sizes as follows: PERF1101S for 3/4, PERF1102S for 7/8, PERF1103S for 4/4 and PERF1104S for 1/2. Because the lid of a soft shell gives a little, a slightly deeper instrument will also fit.
An ordinary impregnation spray for Cordura and textiles protects the cover against rain, and a test on a small area first shows how the fabric reacts. If a zip runs stiffly, especially round the corners, silicone spray or a little petroleum jelly on the teeth helps.
The slider of a zip can be replaced as a spare part by the owner. Replacing a cover or a zip is carried out by BAM's production in France. A forgotten code cannot be reset on a combination lock.
