Protection and climate
The oboe cases of the 3029 series all share the same interior, shaped to a reference instrument. The Trekking oboe case comes as the 3029SBN in black, the 3029SBM in blue and the 3029SBH in red. Alongside the Trekking line, BAM builds oboe cases in Hightech construction, including the Panther PANT3029XLG with its rubberised surface.
An ordinary impregnation spray for Cordura and textiles protects the cover against rain, and a test on a small area first shows how the fabric reacts. If a zip runs stiffly, especially round the corners, silicone spray or a little petroleum jelly on the teeth helps.
The slider of a zip can be replaced as a spare part by the owner. Replacing a cover or a zip is carried out by BAM's production in France. A forgotten code cannot be reset on a combination lock.
