In practice

• The rubber toughening makes the joint less impact-sensitive than a plain cyanoacrylate.
• Forty to sixty seconds is a lot of time for an instant adhesive. That allows clean alignment before the joint sets.
• Besides wood the adhesive bonds to metal, stone, rubber, plastic, glass and ceramic.
• Test on an offcut before using it where it will be seen. Black stays black.
• Cyanoacrylate is not intended for exterior use or damp environments and has no food contact approval.
• Clean with acetone. The adhesive bonds skin and eyes instantly, so safety glasses belong at the bench.
• Cool storage at 4 to 24 degrees noticeably extends usable life. Close opened bottles tightly.

Technology and workmanship

Titebond Instant Bond Jet Black is a cyanoacrylate instant glue that cures very impact resistant and jet black. It fills cracks in wood and leaves 40 to 60 seconds of open time for alignment. Like every cyanoacrylate it cures with atmospheric moisture, so the bottle is always kept closed.
