Thomastik Dominant Cello 4/4, ST-DO147-SET44

On the cello, the Dominant series carries its characteristic tonal philosophy into the lower register. The flexible Perlon multi-layer core produces a warm, modulation-friendly tone with good projection, a combination used in orchestras worldwide.

Dominant cello strings respond quickly, allow precise dosing, and react immediately to every change in bow contact. They are insensitive to humidity and hold their tuning over long periods. This makes them reference strings both in the orchestra pit and in solo and chamber music settings.

Available in all common cello sizes from 4/4 to 1/4. The A string is wound with aluminum, the D and G with silver or tungsten, and the C string is likewise available in several winding variants. Gauges range from soft through medium to strong.
