| Instrument | double bass |
The Götz endpin rubber 3S-503 is made from a PAH-free blend of natural rubber and styrene-butadiene rubber (NR/SBR; PAH stands for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) with a hardness of 60 Shore A, plus or minus 5. It meets the Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC and the PAH limits of Regulation (EU) 1272/2013, and one piece weighs 3 grams. On the double bass the endpin rubber stands up to the normal wear from pressure and movement for a long time.
The 4S-6146 screw is 12 millimetres long.
Our experience: the endpin rubber is needed for two reasons, in the case for the case floor and when playing for the floor itself, which is why many professionals leave it on the tip in the case. The steel tip is razor sharp, and no case withstands it in the long run without a rubber.
If you want extra grip on a smooth floor, our ZP-2016 series endpin rests offer a centring magnet and a foam-rubber base.
From a PAH-free NR/SBR rubber blend with a hardness of 60 Shore A, made in Germany.
Because otherwise the sharp steel tip damages the floor of the case.
