Original Götz Cello Endpin Rest, & Original Endpin-Tip 3S-503, Bundle, ZP-6168
ZP-6168
Original Götz cello endpin rest and endpin rubber as a set. The rest takes the endpin tip and protects the floor, the rubber protects tip and floor when travelling.
- Original Götz manufacture
- The endpin tip is sharp so that the instrument stands on the smallest possible contact area. On parquet you therefore set the endpin rubber on the endpin rest.
- The endpin carries the instrument and passes vibration to the floor. Length and angle determine your playing posture and should be set properly once.

Features
- Set of endpin rest and endpin rubber
In practice
- Two reasons for the rubber: in the case it protects the case bottom from the sharp tip, when playing it protects the floor. Many professional musicians leave it on the tip in the case
- Tighten the endpin screw only as far as it needs to hold. Overtightening widens the endpin socket.
- An endpin rubber protects the floor and the tip and is a wearing part. Hardened or split rubber slips.
- On smooth floors friction alone is often not enough. Then an endpin rest with a socket or an anchor helps.
Grip and floor protection
Our ZP-2016 series endpin rests are 10 cm in diameter and 1.7 cm high; a magnet in the centre centres the endpin over an ebony inlay. Their underside of cellular rubber grips on wood, PVC, laminate and glass with a coefficient of friction above 0.9: only a sideways force of more than nine tenths of the load the endpin places vertically will make the rest slide.
The ZP-6168 has a hard plastic housing with a stainless steel insert and a washable underside of micro cellular rubber; it measures around 9.5 cm in diameter and takes endpins up to 15 mm. The 3S-503 endpin rubber is an NR/SBR rubber compound with a hardness of 60 ± 5 Shore A (the hardness scale for rubber); it weighs 3 g and fits endpins 6 to 7 mm in diameter.
Our experience
The Götz ZP-6168 endpin rest has proved itself over more than 70 years, and it always comes with two 3S-503 endpin rubbers.
